Volans Ursus is the second rocket developed to fly on the commercial M1575 hybrid motor. It features improved stabilization and includes an onboard arduino to record sensor readings. Much effort was put into refining and practicing pre-launch operations. The fill system was redesigned to this end and improved both reliability and accuracy. Volans Ursus was successfully test launched in the spring. During competition, the parachutes failed to deploy due to a pressure leak and the rocket was not recovered. It is estimated that it reached at least 5000 ft.
